Bubba's Bad Bitch exists because Irene Kush is so hard to work with. Humboldt CSI report that a full bed of Irene plants returns only a token number of S1 seeds, which is why their Irene Kush S1 packs turn up rarely and in small numbers. Crossing it to Bubba Kush is the practical route to that cut, and Bubba is no consolation prize.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Irene Kush. Also called Irene OG, and among the hardest clones CSI have ever reversed. It is kept for its terpenes above everything else: a classic Kush profile of sweet, earthy and floral notes over rich earth and pine, with a distinct diesel edge that sets it apart from most OG cuts.
• Father: Bubba Kush. The Los Angeles clone from the mid-1990s, and the same plant Humboldt CSI reversed in 2006 to make Mendocino Purple Kush. It turns up right across their catalogue. It brings the stocky frame, broad deep-green leaves, blunt stacked colas and a base of roasted coffee, dark cocoa and old-school hash.
• Why the cross rather than the self. If a full bed of Irene gives a handful of seeds, a hybrid is simply the realistic way to put that genetic material in someone's hands. That is the honest reason this product exists.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two Kush profiles that are not the same Kush.

• The Aroma. Sweet, earthy and floral from Irene with pine underneath and that unusual diesel note running through, over roasted coffee, cocoa and hash from the Bubba side.
• The Taste. Piney and earthy on the inhale, turning to coffee bean and spiced hash through the middle, with Irene's sour diesel edge on the exhale.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. Short to medium and stocky from the Bubba side with broad leaves and tight internodes; Irene is described as structurally resilient rather than delicate. A robust, compact plant either way it leans.
• Vegetative Phase and Stretch. Modest: Bubba moves around 1.2 to 1.5 times after the flip and is slow early on, which is the line behaving normally rather than a fault.
• Feeding. CSI recommend a nutrient-rich organic soil with good micronutrient content for Irene, to bring the terpene profile out. On a cross bought for the Irene half, feeding it thinly wastes the point.
• Bud Appearance. Golf-ball to cola-sized flowers with thick calyces under heavy resin, running forest green to plum where the Bubba side leads.
• Airflow. Bubba's dense colas need air moving through them through the back half of bloom.

Effects and Experience

• The Mind. Growers describe the OG family as focused and potent rather than light.
• The Body. Bubba Kush is the heavy, settling half and gives this cross most of its weight.
