Bubblegum x Obama Kush is Indiana Bubblegum crossed to Obama Kush. Indiana Bubblegum is a genuine 1990s Indiana survivor and still the reference for what sweet should smell like. Obama Kush is Red Beard's award-winning 2007 selection out of CSI's own Mendocino Purple Kush. Between them they cover ground neither reaches alone. Every parent CSI use is a cut they keep alive themselves, so nothing in this pack is a reconstruction of a famous name.

Indiana Bubblegum sits on the seed side here, Obama Kush on the pollen side. If you have seen these two names paired the other way round, that is a different pack and not this one.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Indiana Bubblegum. A genuine 1990s survivor out of Indiana and still the reference for what sweet is supposed to smell like. Wants a moderate level of experience.
• Father: Obama Kush. Red Beard's award-winning 2007 selection out of CSI's own Mendocino Purple Kush. Built from a selection of Mendocino Purple Kush, which is Mendocino Purple x Bubba Kush, made by CSI in 2006. Red Beard pulled two keepers from that seed - Obama Kush and George W. Kush; the Obama cut spread through the Pacific Northwest and stayed there.
• What to expect across a pack. Two distinct parents means real variation in frame, finish and nose. Select early and take cuttings off anything you would want again.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two profiles that stay distinguishable rather than collapsing into one.

• The Aroma. Pink bubblegum first, then cotton candy, strawberry taffy and vanilla cream, with ripe berry and a faint hash note from the Indiana Bubblegum side, against coffee and cocoa hash from the Bubba side with grape from the Mendocino Purple from the Obama Kush side.
• The Taste. Cotton candy and ripe berry with a creamy finish up front, turning to spiced earth and dark roast through the exhale.

The two halves, side by side

• They are not on the same clock. Indiana Bubblegum runs seven to eight weeks, some reporting sixty to sixty-five days; Obama Kush runs eight to ten weeks. Across a pack that gap shows up as plants finishing days or weeks apart.
• Where the nose comes from. One side gives pink bubblegum first, then cotton candy, strawberry taffy and vanilla cream, with ripe berry and a faint hash note; the other gives coffee and cocoa hash from the Bubba side with grape from the Mendocino Purple. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
• They pull differently. Growers put Indiana Bubblegum at softer and more relaxed and Obama Kush at settling. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. Medium-tall on a slender, sparse frame; roughly doubles in height after the flip; heavy trichome coverage on dense buds.
• Before the flip. Decide the shape now. These lines do not tidy themselves up once they are running.
• Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. Indiana Bubblegum runs seven to eight weeks, some reporting sixty to sixty-five days, Obama Kush eight to ten weeks. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

Effects and Experience

• The Mind. Growers describe Indiana Bubblegum as softer and more relaxed.
• The Body. Obama Kush is reported as settling, and that is the side supplying the weight here.
