Take Indiana Bubblegum, the original Indiana bubblegum plant, and the standard every later candy strain is measured against, and put it over Triangle Kush, the Florida cut that sits at the root of the OG family and has fathered more of the modern index than almost anything else. That is Bubblegum x Triangle Kush. CSI breed off held clones rather than off seed stock, which is why the parents named on the pack are the actual plants and not their descendants.

Order matters in a cross name. In Bubblegum x Triangle Kush the Indiana Bubblegum side supplied the seed and Triangle Kush the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Indiana Bubblegum. A genuine 1990s survivor out of Indiana and still the reference for what sweet is supposed to smell like. Wants a moderate level of experience.
• Father: Triangle Kush. The Florida cut behind a great deal of the OG family. Lighter on the pine and cleaner-fluid terpenes than its reputation suggests, which is why breeders pair it with louder cuts; Humboldt CSI's 5150 is their pick out of a large Triangle Kush S1 population.
• What to expect across a pack. Two distinct parents means real variation in frame, finish and nose. Select early and take cuttings off anything you would want again.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two profiles that stay distinguishable rather than collapsing into one.

• The Aroma. Confectionery through and through - bubblegum and taffy with berry and a trace of hash from the Indiana Bubblegum side, against classic OG earth and pine, noticeably restrained rather than loud from the Triangle Kush side.
• The Taste. Cotton candy and ripe berry with a creamy finish up front, turning to earthy pine with weight, finishing clean through the exhale.

The two halves, side by side

• Timing splits the pack. One parent wants seven to eight weeks, some reporting sixty to sixty-five days, the other eight to nine weeks, reported sixty-three to seventy-seven days with most growers near seventy. Expect the fast plants down well before the slow ones are ready.
• Two noses, one pack. Indiana Bubblegum contributes pink bubblegum first, then cotton candy, strawberry taffy and vanilla cream, with ripe berry and a faint hash note. Triangle Kush contributes classic OG earth and pine, noticeably restrained rather than loud. Which dominates is the main thing that varies.
• Structure varies hard here. Medium-tall on a slender, sparse frame; roughly doubles in height after the flip; heavy trichome coverage on dense buds from one parent; stocky and bushy at moderate indoor height, up to two metres outdoors; vegs vigorously and throws heavy foliage; takes trimming, defoliation and lollipopping well; dense bright green flower under heavy resin from the other. Plan the canopy for the taller outcome.
• Opposite ends. Indiana Bubblegum is reported as softer and more relaxed; Triangle Kush as the potent, focused end of the OG family. The cross sits somewhere between and moves plant to plant.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Indiana Bubblegum is medium-tall on a slender, sparse frame; roughly doubles in height after the flip; heavy trichome coverage on dense buds. Triangle Kush is a vigorous, leafy grower that fills a tent fast and takes hard training - the flower underneath comes in dense and greasy once you open it up.
• Before the flip. Decide the shape now. These lines do not tidy themselves up once they are running.
• Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. Indiana Bubblegum runs seven to eight weeks, some reporting sixty to sixty-five days, Triangle Kush eight to nine weeks, reported sixty-three to seventy-seven days with most growers near seventy. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.
