Caramel Valley (SFV OG x Caramel Tsunami) sits between SFV OG and Caramel Tsunami: the San Fernando Valley OG, Swerve's cut out of Cali Connection on one side, Tsunami Seed Co's own line and the plant nearly their whole catalogue is built on on the other. The caramel and cream running under this comes from the Tsunami side of the family and it is the reason the catalogue reads as one thing.

Order matters in a cross name. In Caramel Valley (SFV OG x Caramel Tsunami) the SFV OG side supplied the seed and Caramel Tsunami the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: SFV OG. SFV OG - the San Fernando Valley cut of OG Kush. It traces back to an OG Kush phenotype worked with an Afghani from Homegrown Fantaseeds. Swerve's original is clone-only. It took third in the indica category at the 2012 Amsterdam Cannabis Cup and first at the Denver Cup the same year.
• Father: Caramel Tsunami. Tsunami Seed Co's own line and the plant nearly their whole catalogue is built on. Given as Butterscotch Pie x Wedding Crasher. It is used as a male far more than it is sold, which is why it turns up on the father side of most Tsunami packs. Animal Tsunami came out of it crossed to Animal Cookies..
• How to read it. Everything below splits into what one parent gives and what the other does. Plants that take from both are the ones to keep.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Expect the profile to move plant to plant rather than settle.

• The Aroma. Sharp lemon zest and pine resin over a deep diesel base from the SFV OG side, against burnt sugar and cream over a soft fruit base from the Caramel Tsunami side.
• The Taste. Lemon, pine and petrol - the classic Kush-cut flavour up front, turning to caramel and vanilla, sweeter on the exhale than the nose suggests through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

• Two different harvest dates. Eight to nine weeks, and it yields well for SFV OG, eight to nine weeks for Caramel Tsunami. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.
• The smell is a negotiation. Sharp lemon zest and pine resin over a deep diesel base on one side against burnt sugar and cream over a soft fruit base on the other. Neither wins outright in every seedling.
• Structure varies hard here. Medium in veg at ninety to a hundred and thirty centimetres indoors, then it stretches hard for the first three weeks of flower and opens its internodes right up from one parent; solid, resin-heavy flower on a vigorous plant that puts on size fast from the other. Plan the canopy for the taller outcome.
• They pull differently. Growers put SFV OG at indica-dominant OG weight and Caramel Tsunami at relaxed and weighted without being flattening. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. SFV OG is medium in veg at ninety to a hundred and thirty centimetres indoors, then it stretches hard for the first three weeks of flower and opens its internodes right up. Caramel Tsunami is solid, resin-heavy flower on a vigorous plant that puts on size fast.
• Veg and stretch. Set the frame while it is cheap to do. Anything you fix after the flip costs you flower sites.
• Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. SFV OG runs eight to nine weeks, and it yields well, Caramel Tsunami eight to nine weeks. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

• The Mind. Growers describe SFV OG as indica-dominant OG weight.
• The Body. Caramel Tsunami is reported as relaxed and weighted without being flattening, and that is the side supplying the weight here.
