Chem 91 x TK puts Chem 91 over Triangle Kush. One is the SKVA cut, the original Chemdog '91 and the clone the whole Chem family is named after; the other is the Florida cut behind a great deal of the OG family. Two very different plants, and the point of the cross is what sits between them. What CSI sell is access to their clone collection in seed form. The parents are the cuts themselves, not a line bred to resemble them.

The number in Chem 91 is a specific plant, not a decoration. Humboldt CSI grow a population out, keep the individuals worth keeping and number them, so Chem 91 is one identified selection rather than Chem in general. A pack naming a different number is a different mother.

Written this way, Chem 91 is the mother and Triangle Kush the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Chem 91. The SKVA cut, the original Chemdog '91 and the clone the whole Chem family is named after. Parentage: one of thirteen seeds from a bag bought at a Grateful Dead show in 1991. Skunk VA was given a cut in 1995 and has held it since, which is why the line survives.
• Father: Triangle Kush. The Florida cut behind a great deal of the OG family. Lighter on the pine and cleaner-fluid terpenes than its reputation suggests, which is why breeders pair it with louder cuts; Humboldt CSI's 5150 is their pick out of a large Triangle Kush S1 population.
• What to expect across a pack. Two distinct parents means real variation in frame, finish and nose. Select early and take cuttings off anything you would want again.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

The nose is where these two argue hardest.

• The Aroma. Pungent turned earth and diesel with pine and citrus behind it from the Chem 91 side, against restrained OG earth and pine from the Triangle Kush side.
• The Taste. Fuel first, earth and pine behind it, sour to close, and it coats the mouth up front, turning to pine and earth with OG weight, cleaning up late through the exhale.

How the two sides differ

• Timing splits the pack. One parent wants sixty-three to seventy days, the other eight to nine weeks, reported sixty-three to seventy-seven days with most growers near seventy. Expect the fast plants down well before the slow ones are ready.
• Two noses, one pack. Chem 91 contributes pungent turned earth and diesel with pine and citrus behind it. Triangle Kush contributes classic OG earth and pine, noticeably restrained rather than loud. Which dominates is the main thing that varies.
• Structure varies hard here. Loose and open rather than compact, moderate to heavy stretch, branches that soften under weight late from one parent; stocky and bushy at moderate indoor height, up to two metres outdoors; vegs vigorously and throws heavy foliage; takes trimming, defoliation and lollipopping well; dense bright green flower under heavy resin from the other. Plan the canopy for the taller outcome.
• They pull differently. Growers put Chem 91 at alert and head-forward, sativa-leaning rather than heavy and Triangle Kush at the potent, focused end of the OG family. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Chem 91 is loose and open rather than compact, moderate to heavy stretch, branches that soften under weight late. Triangle Kush is a big, leafy, vigorous grower - bushy indoors, capable of two metres outside - that responds to being worked: trim it, defoliate it, lollipop it, and the bright green flower underneath comes in dense and greasy.
• Vegetative Phase. Top or train before you flip rather than chasing the canopy afterwards.
• Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. Chem 91 runs sixty-three to seventy days, Triangle Kush eight to nine weeks, reported sixty-three to seventy-seven days with most growers near seventy. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

Effects and Experience

• The Mind. Growers describe Chem 91 as alert and head-forward, sativa-leaning rather than heavy.
• The Body. Triangle Kush is reported as the potent, focused end of the OG family, and that is the side supplying the weight here.
