Chemdog D x Chemdog #4 brings Chem D together with Chem 4. The first is the most-used of the 1991 Chem phenotypes, and the one sitting behind Giesel; the second, one of the founding phenotypes out of the 1991 Chem seed lot. Two lines that were never going to produce a quiet plant. CSI breed off held clones rather than off seed stock, which is why the parents named on the pack are the actual plants and not their descendants.

Written this way, Chem D is the mother and Chem 4 the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Chem D. The Chem family's workhorse and the cut most breeders reach for first. Built from another phenotype from the same 1991 seed lot. It is the Chem half of Giesel, and one of the most widely used Chem cuts in American breeding.
• Father: Chem 4. One of the founding phenotypes out of the 1991 Chem seed lot. That one comes from one of thirteen seeds from the 1991 Grateful Dead bag.
