Cherry Pie x F1 Durbs is Cherry Pie crossed to F1 Durb. Cherry Pie is Granddaddy Purple crossed to Durban Poison, roughly sixty-forty indica. F1 Durb is the F1 Durb clone, preserved through Cookie Monster's cut and reversed by CSI in tiny numbers. Between them they cover ground neither reaches alone. CSI breed off held clones rather than off seed stock, which is why the parents named on the pack are the actual plants and not their descendants.

Order matters in a cross name. In Cherry Pie x F1 Durbs the Cherry Pie side supplied the seed and F1 Durb the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

• Mother: Cherry Pie. Granddaddy Purple crossed to Durban Poison, roughly sixty-forty indica. That one comes from Granddaddy Purple x Durban Poison. Considered easy to grow.
• Father: F1 Durb. A clone-only Durban selection, and CSI's work with it came from Cookie Monster's cut. Given as a Durban line. CSI describe Cookie Monster's cut as reputedly one of the last keepers of the F1 Durb clone, and say the reversal produced very few seeds, which is why these releases are limited.
• The point of the pairing. Neither parent needed rescuing. Putting them together is about what sits between them, not about fixing either one.
