Half of Family Feud x Grandaddy Purple is on the record and half of it is not. Granddaddy Purple is the other California purple benchmark. Family Feud is working stock, so the pack is where you meet it.
Genetic Lineage
- Mother: Family Feud. Named by Humboldt CSI as a parent. It is working stock they hold rather than a catalogue strain, so no public write-up exists and what it contributes shows up in the plants instead.
- Father: Granddaddy Purple. The other California purple benchmark. Its own cross is contested - its breeder gives Mendo Purps, Skunk and Afghan, while many sources give Purple Urkle x Big Bud. The lineage argument is the interesting part: the breeder's own account gives Mendo Purps, Skunk and Afghan, while most third-party listings give Purple Urkle crossed to Big Bud. Those are different plants and no source reconciles them.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
- The Aroma. Sweet, fruity and floral over an earthy base.
- The Taste. Berry sweetness over earth.
Cultivation and Growth Traits
- Plant Structure. Dense and heavily coloured, indica in build.
- Training. Worth the effort early - it is the difference between an even canopy and three colas and a lot of leaf.
- Flowering Time. Granddaddy Purple runs around eight weeks. Start checking trichomes a week before you expect to be ready.
Effects and Experience
- The Mind. Growers describe Granddaddy Purple as settled and heavy.
- The Body. Reported in line with that. This is not a plant described as pulling in two directions.
In the pack
7 feminized seeds per pack. Feminized seeds from Humboldt CSI. The point of their catalogue is access - cuts that otherwise only move between growers who already know each other, put into a form you can actually buy. Original Humboldt CSI stock.
