There are two very different things inside Gravy Train 2.0 (Chemdog 91 x Train wreck). Chem 91, the SKVA cut - the original Chemdog '91 and the clone the family takes its name from. And Trainwreck, a Mexican and Thai sativa line taken into Afghani. CSI breed off held clones rather than off seed stock, which is why the parents named on the pack are the actual plants and not their descendants.

The number in Gravy Train 2 is a specific plant, not a decoration. Humboldt CSI grow a population out, keep the individuals worth keeping and number them, so Gravy Train 2 is one identified selection rather than Gravy Train in general. A pack naming a different number is a different mother. Chemdog carries a 91 because selections get numbered to stay distinguishable once they leave the room they were made in. It marks this exact mother, and it is the part of the name worth reading closely.

Order matters in a cross name. In Gravy Train 2.0 (Chemdog 91 x Train wreck) the Chem 91 side supplied the seed and Trainwreck the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

• The Aroma. Pungent turned earth and diesel with pine and citrus behind it from the Chem 91 side, against loud citrus-pine - sharp lemon over earthy pine with a subtle spice from the Trainwreck side.
• The Taste. Greasy and mouth-coating - fuel, then earth and pine, sour at the finish up front, turning to lemon and pine, sticky through the exhale.

How the two sides differ

• Timing splits the pack. One parent wants sixty-three to seventy days, the other nine to ten weeks, reported elsewhere at eight to ten. Expect the fast plants down well before the slow ones are ready.
