Skelly Hash Plant x Chemdog carries a 91 because selections get numbered to stay distinguishable once they leave the room they were made in. It marks this exact mother, and it is the part of the name worth reading closely.

Written this way, Puck is the mother and Chemdog Bx3 the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Puck. The Skelly Hash Plant, one of the genuinely old clone-only indicas. Built from a selection out of Nevil's Hash Plant, given as Pacific North West Hash Plant crossed to a PNWHP x Northern Lights #1. Heavy greasy trichome coverage is the thing it is actually kept for. It was named around 1989 and has been clone-only ever since, so seed of it exists only where somebody has selfed it. The origin accounts do not fully agree - one traces it to Nevil's Hash Plant out of Holland, another places the selection in Crested Butte, Colorado from a pack of Seed Bank Hash Plant seed.
• Father: Chemdog Bx3. Three generations of Chem 91 worked back into itself. Given as a backcross of Chemdog 91 - the cut Skunk VA has held since 1995 - worked back into itself three times. Backcrossing is what you do when you want more of one parent rather than a blend.
• The point of the pairing. Neither parent needed rescuing. Putting them together is about what sits between them, not about fixing either one.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Expect the profile to move plant to plant rather than settle.

• The Aroma. Incense and damp earth, with the onion-and-rubber note the old growers always mention from the Puck side, against the Chem 91 nose concentrated rather than diluted: turned earth and diesel with pine and citrus behind it from the Chemdog Bx3 side.
• The Taste. Earthy and hashy, following the nose up front, turning to greasy and mouth-coating, fuel then earth, sour at the finish through the exhale.
