Kitsune (lone star killer queen x lavender lemonade) puts Killer Queen over Lavender Lemonade. One is Killer Queen - G13 over Cinderella 99, out of the same BC circle as Space Queen; the other is the lemon mother behind much of the current Bodhi catalogue. Two very different plants, and the point of the cross is what sits between them. Bodhi's whole method is the choice of father. A male gets tested across many mothers before it earns a name, and what it does to each one is the actual product.

Order matters in a cross name. In Kitsune (lone star killer queen x lavender lemonade) the Killer Queen side supplied the seed and Lavender Lemonade the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Killer Queen. Vic High's G13 and Cinderella 99 cross. It traces back to the Airborne G13/HP clone pollinated by a Brothers Grimm Cinderella 99. Made for the BC Growers Association by Vic High, the same breeder behind Space Queen. Brothers Grimm took over producing it later. It took third for best hydro variety at the 2008 Highlife Cup.
• Father: Lavender Lemonade. One of Bodhi's lemon lines, and a frequent mother in this catalogue. Its parentage is written two ways and they are not the same. One listing gives a Lime 9 clone crossed to a Chem D, HA OG and Sterling Skunk male; another describes a Lavender Lemonaid F2 as Lemon Tree crossed to Wookie 15. Both come from Bodhi's own releases, so the safest reading is that more than one thing has carried the name.
• What the cross is reaching for. One side brings the structure and the other brings the nose. The plants worth keeping out of a pack are the ones that hold both rather than picking a side.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Neither parent is subtle, and the cross has nowhere quiet to go.

• The Aroma. Sweet fruit - the F1s ranged from black cherry through to fruit punch, and every one of them was fruity from the Killer Queen side, against lemon over skunk, with Chem underneath holding it down from the Lavender Lemonade side.
• The Taste. Fruit-forward, following the nose up front, turning to lemon with a skunky Chem floor through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

• Timing. Killer Queen runs fifty-six to sixty-three days, and that is the half of this cross you can actually plan around.
• Where the nose comes from. One side gives sweet fruit - the F1s ranged from black cherry through to fruit punch, and every one of them was fruity; the other gives lemon over a skunky Chem base. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
• Build. On the Killer Queen side: thick-stalked, compact and bushy, throwing large resinous colas and heavy yields; it runs indoors or out. On the Lavender Lemonade side: a lemon plant used as a mother across a great deal of Bodhi's recent work. Select early rather than trying to train your way out of it.
• Opposite ends. Killer Queen is reported as potent; Lavender Lemonade as lifted, with the Chem weight underneath. The cross sits somewhere between and moves plant to plant.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Killer Queen is thick-stalked, compact and bushy, throwing large resinous colas and heavy yields; it runs indoors or out. Lavender Lemonade is a lemon plant used as a mother across a great deal of Bodhi's recent work.
• Training. Worth the effort early - it is the difference between an even canopy and three colas and a lot of leaf.
• Flowering Time. Killer Queen runs fifty-six to sixty-three days. Start checking trichomes a week before you expect to be ready.
