  • Lemon Tree x Bubblegum – Humboldt CSI

There are two very different things inside Lemon Tree x Bubblegum. Lemon Tree: Lemon Skunk over Sour Diesel, selected out of a large hunt in the Santa Cruz mountains. And Indiana Bubblegum, a genuine 1990s Indiana survivor and still the reference for what sweet should smell like. These are held cuts, not recreations. CSI's entire catalogue works that way, and it is the reason their crosses are worth chasing.

Order matters in a cross name. In Lemon Tree x Bubblegum the Lemon Tree side supplied the seed and Indiana Bubblegum the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

Genetic Lineage

  • Mother: Lemon Tree. Lemon Skunk crossed to Sour Diesel, made in the early 2000s around Santa Cruz out of a large phenotype hunt. Built from Lemon Skunk x Sour Diesel.
  • Father: Indiana Bubblegum. A genuine 1990s Indiana survivor and still the reference for what sweet should smell like. Wants a moderate level of experience.
  • Why it is worth a pack rather than a look. The two sides are far enough apart that seedlings genuinely differ. That range is the product.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Neither parent is subtle, and the cross has nowhere quiet to go.

  • The Aroma. Sharp lemon and citrus over a fuel base from the Lemon Tree side, against confectionery through and through - bubblegum and taffy with berry and a trace of hash from the Indiana Bubblegum side.
  • The Taste. Zesty and sour turning heavier and more diesel-driven up front, turning to cotton candy and ripe berry with a creamy finish through the exhale.

What each side brings

  • Timing splits the pack. One parent wants eight to ten weeks, the other seven to eight weeks, some reporting sixty to sixty-five days. Expect the fast plants down well before the slow ones are ready.
  • The smell is a negotiation. Sharp lemon and citrus over a fuel base on one side against pink bubblegum first, then cotton candy, strawberry taffy and vanilla cream, with ripe berry and a faint hash note on the other. Neither wins outright in every seedling.
  • Two frames in one pack. Lemon Tree is medium height, around ninety to a hundred centimetres indoors. Indiana Bubblegum is medium-tall on a slender, sparse frame; roughly doubles in height after the flip; heavy trichome coverage on dense buds. Decide which suits your room before you flip, because you get both.
  • They pull differently. Growers put Lemon Tree at bright and uplifting rather than heavy and Indiana Bubblegum at softer and more relaxed. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

  • Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Lemon Tree is medium height, around ninety to a hundred centimetres indoors. Indiana Bubblegum is medium-tall on a slender, sparse frame; roughly doubles in height after the flip; heavy trichome coverage on dense buds.
  • Before the flip. Decide the shape now. These lines do not tidy themselves up once they are running.
  • Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. Lemon Tree runs eight to ten weeks, Indiana Bubblegum seven to eight weeks, some reporting sixty to sixty-five days. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

Effects and Experience

  • The Mind. Growers describe Lemon Tree as bright and uplifting rather than heavy.
  • The Body. Indiana Bubblegum is reported as softer and more relaxed, and that is the side supplying the weight here.

In the pack

Feminized seeds from Humboldt CSI. Their library is clones first and crosses second, which is why the names on their packs read like a list of plants rather than a list of products. Original Humboldt CSI stock.
