Mendo Purps x Sherbet brings Mendo Purps together with Sunset Sherbet. The first is the Mendocino purple that the whole Northern California purple catalogue leans on; the second, a Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties cross, and one of the plants that defined modern dessert weed. Two lines that were never going to produce a quiet plant. CSI breed off held clones rather than off seed stock, which is why the parents named on the pack are the actual plants and not their descendants.

Written this way, Mendo Purps is the mother and Sunset Sherbet the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Mendo Purps. The Northern California indica that gave the purple lines their colour. The purple lines people can name mostly run back through it. Its own origin is a story rather than a pedigree - the usual account has it grown from the bagseed of a purple Afghani kept since 1977 and not planted until 1998, and no source gives a clean lineage for it. It circulated clone-only at first; BC Bud Depot later stabilised seed of it, and it took High Times Strain of the Year in 2007. It is not a heavy yielder and was never grown for that.
• Father: Sunset Sherbet. Girl Scout Cookies crossed to Pink Panties, and one of the definitive modern dessert plants. Given as Girl Scout Cookies x Pink Panties. Wants a stable room - around 70-78F and 40-50% humidity in bloom.
• What the cross is reaching for. One side brings the structure and the other brings the nose. The plants worth keeping out of a pack are the ones that hold both rather than picking a side.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Expect the profile to move plant to plant rather than settle.

• The Aroma. Fruity and grape-like with deep colouration from the Mendo Purps side, against sweet berries and cream cut with citrus, with skunk and a faint fuel note underneath from the Sunset Sherbet side.
• The Taste. Grape with dark berry under it up front, turning to berry and citrus over creamy dough, finishing earthy through the exhale.
