Old Family Purple #9 x T-1000) x Sherbet brings T-1000 together with Sunset Sherbet. The first is Red Beard's selection out of CSI's Old Family Purple, and the first CSI Humboldt / CSI Portland collaboration; the second, Girl Scout Cookies crossed to Pink Panties, and one of the definitive modern dessert plants. Two lines that were never going to produce a quiet plant. What CSI sell is access to their clone collection in seed form. The parents are the cuts themselves, not a line bred to resemble them.
Order matters in a cross name. In Old Family Purple #9 x T-1000) x Sherbet the T-1000 side supplied the seed and Sunset Sherbet the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.
Genetic Lineage
- Mother: T-1000. An Old Family Purple selection named by CSI Portland, built on Triangle Kush and Purple Urkle. Built from a selection from Old Family Purple, which is Triangle Kush x Purple Urkle. Appreciates steady feeding rather than a boom-and-bust schedule.
- Father: Sunset Sherbet. A Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties cross, and one of the plants that defined modern dessert weed. That one comes from Girl Scout Cookies x Pink Panties. Wants a stable room - around 70-78F and 40-50% humidity in bloom.
- Why it is worth a pack rather than a look. The two sides are far enough apart that seedlings genuinely differ. That range is the product.
Flavor and Aroma Profile
The two halves stack rather than blend, which is the whole reason to run it.
- The Aroma. Juicy grape and sweet cream over pine and skunky diesel with musky earth beneath from the T-1000 side, against sweet berries and cream cut with citrus, with skunk and a faint fuel note underneath from the Sunset Sherbet side.
- The Taste. Grape and cream moving to pine and a light diesel, finishing on earth up front, turning to berry and cream with a citrus lift through the exhale.
What each side brings
- Two different harvest dates. Roughly fifty-six to seventy days, with many growers looking at week nine for T-1000, eight to nine weeks, reported forty-nine to sixty-three days for Sunset Sherbet. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.
- Where the nose comes from. One side gives juicy grape and sweet cream over pine needles and skunky diesel, with musky earth and a touch of spice; the other gives sweet berries and creamy dough with tart citrus, a skunky edge and a subtle earthy fuel undertone. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
- Build. On the T-1000 side: indica-leaning at roughly seventy-thirty, medium height, stacking dense spear-shaped resinous colas. On the Sunset Sherbet side: grows tall and thin with dense leaves; moderate, controllable stretch in early flower; round, tightly packed colas showing deep purple under cool nights; tight frosted buds with the classic Cookie structure. Select early rather than trying to train your way out of it.
- They pull differently. Growers put T-1000 at calm rather than busy; body-heavy and relaxing and Sunset Sherbet at indica-leaning and settling. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.
Cultivation and Growth Traits
- Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. T-1000 is medium-sized and about seventy percent indica, stacking resinous spear-shaped colas. Sunset Sherbet is medium and manageable, colouring up in cooler nights.
- Vegetative Phase and Stretch. Shape the plant before the flip. Correcting a frame in week six is harder work than setting it in week two.
- Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. T-1000 runs roughly fifty-six to seventy days, with many growers looking at week nine, Sunset Sherbet eight to nine weeks, reported forty-nine to sixty-three days. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.
Effects and Experience
- The Mind. Growers describe T-1000 as calm rather than busy; body-heavy and relaxing.
- The Body. Sunset Sherbet is reported as indica-leaning and settling, and that is the side supplying the weight here.
In the pack
Feminized seeds from Humboldt CSI. What they sell is preservation work: old clones reversed into seed so the line survives past whoever is currently keeping it alive. Sold as authentic Humboldt CSI.
