Obama x Girl Scout cookies sits between Obama Kush and Girl Scout Cookies: Red Beard's award-winning 2007 selection out of CSI's own Mendocino Purple Kush on one side, the Forum cut, which most of the modern dessert category descends from on the other. Every parent CSI use is a cut they keep alive themselves, so nothing in this pack is a reconstruction of a famous name.

Order matters in a cross name. In Obama x Girl Scout cookies the Obama Kush side supplied the seed and Girl Scout Cookies the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Obama Kush. Red Beard's award-winning 2007 selection out of CSI's own Mendocino Purple Kush. Built from a selection of Mendocino Purple Kush, which is Mendocino Purple x Bubba Kush, made by CSI in 2006. Red Beard pulled two keepers from that seed - Obama Kush and George W. Kush; the Obama cut spread through the Pacific Northwest and stayed there.
• Father: Girl Scout Cookies. The Forum cut, which most of the modern dessert category descends from. Parentage: generally given as OG Kush crossed to a Durban line; the Forum cut was an S1 found in bagseed and circulated through the ICMag forums around 2010. CSI publish a caution that their Cookies hybrids can express instability under some conditions while still producing plenty of good plants.
• Why it is worth a pack rather than a look. The two sides are far enough apart that seedlings genuinely differ. That range is the product.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two distinct smells, and a pack will give you both plus everything between.

• The Aroma. Coffee and cocoa hash from the Bubba side with grape from the Mendocino Purple from the Obama Kush side, against dough and vanilla with a mint edge, sitting on OG earth from the Girl Scout Cookies side.
• The Taste. Spiced earth and dark roast up front, turning to doughy and sweet with vanilla late, finishing earthier through the exhale.

The two halves, side by side

• Two different harvest dates. Eight to ten weeks for Obama Kush, nine to ten weeks for Girl Scout Cookies. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.
• The smell is a negotiation. Coffee and cocoa hash from the bubba side with grape from the mendocino purple on one side against sweet cookie dough and vanilla cream with a faint mint, over an earthy Kush base on the other. Neither wins outright in every seedling.
• They pull differently. Growers put Obama Kush at settling and Girl Scout Cookies at even rather than racy; settling. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. Tight, heavy, dense flower rather than an open frame.
• Veg and stretch. Set the frame while it is cheap to do. Anything you fix after the flip costs you flower sites.
• Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. Obama Kush runs eight to ten weeks, Girl Scout Cookies nine to ten weeks. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

Effects and Experience

• The Mind. Growers describe Obama Kush as settling.
• The Body. Girl Scout Cookies is reported as even rather than racy; settling, and that is the side supplying the weight here.
