Obama x Chem 1 is Obama Kush crossed to Chem 91. Obama Kush is Red Beard's award-winning 2007 selection out of CSI's own Mendocino Purple Kush. Chem 91 is the plant the Chem name was built on, known equally as Chem 91 and the SKVA cut. Between them they cover ground neither reaches alone. Every parent CSI use is a cut they keep alive themselves, so nothing in this pack is a reconstruction of a famous name.

1 identifies the Obama x Chem used here. Numbered cuts come out of a population that was grown and sorted, and the number rides with the plant that was kept. Two crosses that both say Obama x Chem are only the same cross if the number matches too.

Written this way, Obama Kush is the mother and Chem 91 the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Obama Kush. Red Beard's award-winning 2007 selection out of CSI's own Mendocino Purple Kush. It traces back to a selection of Mendocino Purple Kush, which is Mendocino Purple x Bubba Kush, made by CSI in 2006. Red Beard pulled two keepers from that seed - Obama Kush and George W. Kush; the Obama cut spread through the Pacific Northwest and stayed there.
• Father: Chem 91. The SKVA cut - the original Chemdog '91 and the clone the family takes its name from. Built from one of thirteen seeds from a bag bought at a Grateful Dead show in 1991. Skunk VA was given a cut in 1995 and has held it since, which is why the line survives.
• How to read it. Everything below splits into what one parent gives and what the other does. Plants that take from both are the ones to keep.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two distinct smells, and a pack will give you both plus everything between.

• The Aroma. Coffee and cocoa hash from the Bubba side with grape from the Mendocino Purple from the Obama Kush side, against pungent turned earth and diesel with pine and citrus sitting behind from the Chem 91 side.
• The Taste. Spiced earth and dark roast up front, turning to greasy and mouth-coating - fuel, then earth and pine, sour at the finish through the exhale.

• Two different harvest dates. Eight to ten weeks for Obama Kush, sixty-three to seventy days for Chem 91. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

Cultivation and Growth Traits
