Papaya Power (Papaya x Blue Power) sits between Papaya and Blue Power: Nirvana's tropical indica, and about as loud on the nose as anything in the catalogue on one side, Blue Power - the plant Sin City have leaned on for over a decade on the other. One side of this is a plant Sin City have tested to exhaustion; the other is what they wanted to see it do. That is how the whole catalogue is built.

Papaya sits on the seed side here, Blue Power on the pollen side. If you have seen these two names paired the other way round, that is a different pack and not this one.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Papaya. The Nirvana tropical indica - fruit-forward and unusually pungent with it. Built from given as Citral #13 crossed to Ice #2. The citrus comes from the Citral side and the hash weight from Ice - the two halves are doing visibly different jobs.
• Father: Blue Power. Sin City's flagship male, and the reason their catalogue holds together. Given as a Power clone crossed to a White Moonshine male in 2010; the Power side is given as Sour Double x Master Kush, and White Moonshine as The White x Blue Moonshine. The mother was bought simply as Power from Progressive Options, a Prop 215 shop in the San Fernando Valley that dealt in elite cuts, and a persistent rumour says it was really the cup-winning Sour Dubb. Nobody has settled that.
• Why it is worth a pack rather than a look. The two sides are far enough apart that seedlings genuinely differ. That range is the product.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Expect the profile to move plant to plant rather than settle.

• The Aroma. Ripe papaya and mango over peppery spice and sweet fruit syrup, with an odd tobacco or whiskey note underneath from the Papaya side, against sweet kush and sour diesel with creamy blueberry and vanilla behind it from the Blue Power side.
• The Taste. Tropical fruit with the pepper following it up front, turning to lemon and berry sweetness closing on earth through the exhale.

What each side brings

• What to budget. The documented side, Papaya, runs eight to nine weeks. Set the room to that and let the plants correct you.
• Where the nose comes from. One side gives ripe papaya and mango over peppery spice and sweet fruit syrup, with an odd tobacco or whiskey note underneath; the other gives sweet kush and sour diesel with creamy blueberry and vanilla behind it. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
• Structure varies hard here. Indica-dominant, usually put at seventy thirty, and easy to grow from one parent; indica-dominant, usually put around eighty twenty from the other. Plan the canopy for the taller outcome.
• They pull differently. Growers put Papaya at heavy for a fruit plant, in the twenty to twenty-five percent range where it has been tested and Blue Power at heavy on the body with the mood lifted rather than flattened. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Papaya is indica-dominant, usually put at seventy thirty, and easy to grow. Blue Power is indica-led, in the region of eighty twenty.
• Training. Worth the effort early - it is the difference between an even canopy and three colas and a lot of leaf.
• Flowering Time. Papaya runs eight to nine weeks. Start checking trichomes a week before you expect to be ready.

• The Mind. Growers describe Papaya as heavy for a fruit plant, in the twenty to twenty-five percent range where it has been tested.
• The Body. Blue Power is reported as heavy on the body with the mood lifted rather than flattened, and that is the side supplying the weight here.
