Patient Zero is CSI's select cut of the Purple Urkle clone crossed to Pakistani Chitral Kush, chosen out of more than a hundred seed plants. Purple Indica is an heirloom of Pacific Northwest fame going back to the early-to-mid 1980s. Between them they cover ground neither reaches alone. Every parent CSI use is a cut they keep alive themselves, so nothing in this pack is a reconstruction of a famous name.

Written this way, Patient Zero is the mother and Purple Indica the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

Flavor and Aroma Profile

• The Aroma. Grape and dark berry off the Urkle side with Kush earth underneath from the Patient Zero side, against sweet and earthy with the purple line's fruit behind it from the Purple Indica side.
• The Taste. Grape and earth, heavier than it is sweet up front, turning to sweet earth and dark fruit through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

• Timing. Purple Indica runs fifty-six to sixty-three days, and that is the half of this cross you can actually plan around.
• Where the nose comes from. One side gives grape and dark berry off the Urkle side with Kush earth underneath; the other gives sweet and earthy with pine and berry. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
• Build. On the Patient Zero side: the purple side of the CSI library, out of a hundred-plant hunt rather than a small run. On the Purple Indica side: indica by build, indoors or outdoors; naturally dark purple leaves rather than colour that only arrives in the cold. Select early rather than trying to train your way out of it.
• They pull differently. Growers put Patient Zero at settled and physical and Purple Indica at settled and unhurried; physical and relaxing. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.
