  • Peach hashplant (Peach Romulan x 88g13 hashplant) – Bodhi Seeds

Peach hashplant (Peach Romulan x 88g13 hashplant) is Romulan crossed to 88g13 Hash Plant. Romulan is the British Columbia indica that has topped medical recommendations there for thirty years. 88g13 Hash Plant is the hash-plant male that carries old character into modern crosses without flattening them. Between them they cover ground neither reaches alone. That is how Bodhi works - a proven male, run across everything worth running it across, so the father is the constant and the mother is the question.

Romulan sits on the seed side here, 88g13 Hash Plant on the pollen side. If you have seen these two names paired the other way round, that is a different pack and not this one.

Genetic Lineage

  • Mother: Romulan. Romulan - a BC landrace hybrid, pine-heavy and famously flattening. Given as a landrace hybrid rather than a named cross - Thai, Colombian, Mexican and Afghani stock, worked in BC through the eighties and nineties. Its history is unusually well told. Thai seed is said to have come back with Korean War veterans, a Mexican sativa was added by one of them, and a Colombian - possibly Colombian Red - went in during the late seventies. It is credited to Romulan Joe, formerly Mendocino Joe, who was with Sacred Seeds in Santa Cruz until the 1982 raid and then moved north. Federation Seeds, now Next Generation, got a cutting in the eighties and remain the main source.
  • Father: 88g13 Hash Plant. The male Bodhi use as a bridge between modern clones and old hash-plant character. Given as G13 crossed to a Hash Plant and Northern Lights #1 line. It was bred by NDNguy from stock Neville Schoenmaker gave him, which is most of why it carries the reputation it does.
  • The point of the pairing. Neither parent needed rescuing. Putting them together is about what sits between them, not about fixing either one.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

The nose is where these two argue hardest.

  • The Aroma. Pine-forward, and that is the thing it is selected for from the Romulan side, against rubber, skunk and hash, and none of it subtle from the 88g13 Hash Plant side.
  • The Taste. Pine and resin up front, turning to thick and hashy, with the mother's flavour still readable underneath through the exhale.

The two halves, side by side

  • Timing. 88g13 Hash Plant runs quick, on many of its offspring - it is one of the reasons the male gets used, and that is the half of this cross you can actually plan around.
  • Where the nose comes from. One side gives pine-forward, and that is the thing it is selected for; the other gives burnt rubber, skunk and hash - loud, but it does not bury what the mother brings. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
  • Two frames in one pack. Romulan is mostly indica, with figures as high as eighty-five percent given. 88g13 Hash Plant is it puts branch strength into its offspring, and many of its crosses finish quickly. Bodhi advise a longer veg with it. Decide which suits your room before you flip, because you get both.
  • Opposite ends. Romulan is reported as heavy in the body. It was named after the Star Trek aliens because of what it did to people's heads; 88g13 Hash Plant as the resin and the weight the hash-plant family is kept for. The cross sits somewhere between and moves plant to plant.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

  • Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Romulan is mostly indica, with figures as high as eighty-five percent given. 88g13 Hash Plant is it hands down branch strength, and a good number of its offspring finish early; Bodhi ask for a longer veg with it.
  • Training. Worth the effort early - it is the difference between an even canopy and three colas and a lot of leaf.
  • Flowering Time. 88g13 Hash Plant runs quick, on many of its offspring - it is one of the reasons the male gets used. Start checking trichomes a week before you expect to be ready.

Effects and Experience

  • The Mind. Growers describe Romulan as heavy in the body. It was named after the Star Trek aliens because of what it did to people's heads.
  • The Body. 88g13 Hash Plant is reported as the resin and the weight the hash-plant family is kept for, and that is the side supplying the weight here.

In the pack

Regular seeds from Bodhi Seeds. Bodhi breeds for cannabinoid and terpene range rather than for one number, and works largely with heirloom and landrace stock that would otherwise quietly disappear. Original Bodhi Seeds stock.
