Pearly Diesel (Sour Diesel x Pearly White brings Sour Diesel together with Pearly White. The first is the East Coast benchmark for aggressive chemical fuel; the second, White Truffle crossed to Meat Breath. Two lines that were never going to produce a quiet plant. One breeder, one line of males, and a great many mothers - which is why these crosses share a family character while tasting nothing alike.

Written this way, Sour Diesel is the mother and Pearly White the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

• Mother: Sour Diesel. The East Coast benchmark for aggressive chemical fuel. It traces back to most likely Chemdog 91 crossed to a Super Skunk in 1990s New York.
• Father: Pearly White. Pearly White - White Truffle taken to Meat Breath, and now a father itself. That one comes from given as White Truffle x Meat Breath. It has become a parent in its own right here - a good part of the current catalogue is something crossed onto Pearly White rather than onto the original male.
• Why these two. They are not variations on the same idea. They pull in different directions, and that spread is what makes a pack worth hunting through rather than just growing.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

The two halves stack rather than blend, which is the whole reason to run it.

• The Aroma. Aggressively chemical and pungent with greasy resin from the Sour Diesel side, against pungent and funky with floral and sweet fruit notes cutting through it from the Pearly White side.
• The Taste. Solvent and sour, greasy up front, turning to funk and sweet fruit together, with the Meat Breath savoury underneath through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

• Timing splits the pack. One parent wants ten to eleven weeks, with faster plants nearer sixty-seven days, the other an eight-to-nine week window, following the Meat Breath side. Expect the fast plants down well before the slow ones are ready.
• Where the nose comes from. One side gives aggressively chemical and pungent with greasy resin; the other gives pungent and funky with floral and sweet fruit notes cutting through it. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
