  • Pound town (Chemdog91 x T1000) – Humboldt CSI

Take Chem 91, the plant the Chem name was built on, known equally as Chem 91 and the SKVA cut, and put it over T-1000, Red Beard's pick out of Old Family Purple, and the first CSI Humboldt / CSI Portland release. That is Pound town (Chemdog91 x T1000). These are held cuts, not recreations. CSI's entire catalogue works that way, and it is the reason their crosses are worth chasing.

Chem 91 sits on the seed side here, T-1000 on the pollen side. If you have seen these two names paired the other way round, that is a different pack and not this one.

Genetic Lineage

  • Mother: Chem 91. The SKVA cut, the original Chemdog '91 and the clone the whole Chem family is named after. That one comes from one of thirteen seeds from a bag bought at a Grateful Dead show in 1991. Skunk VA was given a cut in 1995 and has held it since, which is why the line survives.
  • Father: T-1000. Red Beard's selection out of CSI's Old Family Purple, and the first CSI Humboldt / CSI Portland collaboration. Built from a selection from Old Family Purple, which is Triangle Kush x Purple Urkle. Appreciates steady feeding rather than a boom-and-bust schedule.
  • The point of the pairing. Neither parent needed rescuing. Putting them together is about what sits between them, not about fixing either one.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

The two halves stack rather than blend, which is the whole reason to run it.

  • The Aroma. Pungent turned earth and diesel with pine and citrus behind it from the Chem 91 side, against grape and sweet cream over pine and skunky diesel, with musk, earth and a little spice from the T-1000 side.
  • The Taste. Greasy and mouth-coating, fuel then earth and pine, finishing sour up front, turning to grape and cream turning piney and faintly dieselly, finishing earthy through the exhale.

How the two sides differ

  • They are not on the same clock. Chem 91 runs sixty-three to seventy days; T-1000 runs roughly fifty-six to seventy days, with many growers looking at week nine. Across a pack that gap shows up as plants finishing days or weeks apart.
  • The smell is a negotiation. Pungent turned earth and diesel with pine and citrus behind it on one side against juicy grape and sweet cream over pine needles and skunky diesel, with musky earth and a touch of spice on the other. Neither wins outright in every seedling.
  • Two frames in one pack. Chem 91 is loose and open rather than compact, moderate to heavy stretch, branches that soften under weight late. T-1000 is indica-leaning at roughly seventy-thirty, medium height, stacking dense spear-shaped resinous colas. Decide which suits your room before you flip, because you get both.
  • They pull differently. Growers put Chem 91 at alert and head-forward, sativa-leaning rather than heavy and T-1000 at calm rather than busy; body-heavy and relaxing. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

  • Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Chem 91 is loose and open rather than compact, moderate to heavy stretch, branches that soften under weight late. T-1000 is indica-leaning at around seventy-thirty, medium in height, stacking dense spear-shaped colas under heavy resin.
  • Vegetative Phase and Training. Open the middle out early. Light reaching the lower sites is worth more than any late correction.
  • Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. Chem 91 runs sixty-three to seventy days, T-1000 roughly fifty-six to seventy days, with many growers looking at week nine. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

Effects and Experience

  • The Mind. Growers describe Chem 91 as alert and head-forward, sativa-leaning rather than heavy.
  • The Body. T-1000 is reported as calm rather than busy; body-heavy and relaxing, and that is the side supplying the weight here.

In the pack

Feminized seeds from Humboldt CSI. The point of their catalogue is access - cuts that otherwise only move between growers who already know each other, put into a form you can actually buy. Sold as authentic Humboldt CSI.
