Purple Wreck (TrainWreck x Purple Urkle) puts Trainwreck over Purple Urkle. One is a Mexican and Thai sativa line taken into Afghani; the other is a Mendocino Purps selection pulled out of the Emerald Triangle around 1990. Two very different plants, and the point of the cross is what sits between them. What CSI sell is access to their clone collection in seed form. The parents are the cuts themselves, not a line bred to resemble them.

Trainwreck sits on the seed side here, Purple Urkle on the pollen side. If you have seen these two names paired the other way round, that is a different pack and not this one.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Trainwreck. A Mexican and Thai sativa line taken into Afghani. Built from Mexican x Thai x Afghani.
• Father: Purple Urkle. The Emerald Triangle purple keeper that most of California's colour reputation rests on. Dense purple flower in a closed canopy is where mould starts.
• What to expect across a pack. Two distinct parents means real variation in frame, finish and nose. Select early and take cuttings off anything you would want again.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

The two halves stack rather than blend, which is the whole reason to run it.

• The Aroma. Loud citrus-pine - sharp lemon over earthy pine with a subtle spice from the Trainwreck side, against grape and berry with a musky, skunky floor under it from the Purple Urkle side.
• The Taste. Lemon and pine, sticky up front, turning to dark fruit up front, musk and earth behind it through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

• Timing splits the pack. One parent wants nine to ten weeks, reported elsewhere at eight to ten, the other around eight weeks indoors, inside a seven to nine week window. Expect the fast plants down well before the slow ones are ready.
• Two noses, one pack. Trainwreck contributes loud citrus-pine - sharp lemon over earthy pine with a subtle spice. Purple Urkle contributes sweet grape and dark berry over earthy skunk, myrcene-dominant. Which dominates is the main thing that varies.
• Build. On the Trainwreck side: elongated spear-shaped colas with moderately dense bracts and swollen calyxes; dense tapered buds under thick milky-white trichomes, lime green with amber flashes and orange pistils. On the Purple Urkle side: compact and indica-built; deep purple colour hardest where night temperatures drop late. Select early rather than trying to train your way out of it.
• Opposite ends. Trainwreck is reported as sharp and forward; Purple Urkle as settled and unhurried; the heavy, physical end. The cross sits somewhere between and moves plant to plant.

Trainwreck is elongated spear-shaped colas with moderately dense bracts and swollen calyxes; dense tapered buds under thick milky-white trichomes, lime green with amber flashes and orange pistils. Purple Urkle is a short, tight plant that colours hard once the nights cool off.
• Veg and stretch. Set the frame while it is cheap to do. Anything you fix after the flip costs you flower sites.
