  • Savage Urkle x TK – Humboldt CSI

Savage Urkle x TK brings Purple Urkle together with Triangle Kush. The first is a Mendocino Purps selection pulled out of the Emerald Triangle around 1990; the second, the Florida cut that sits at the root of the OG family and has fathered more of the modern index than almost anything else. Two lines that were never going to produce a quiet plant. CSI breed off held clones rather than off seed stock, which is why the parents named on the pack are the actual plants and not their descendants.

Written this way, Purple Urkle is the mother and Triangle Kush the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

  • Mother: Purple Urkle. A Mendocino Purps selection pulled out of the Emerald Triangle around 1990. Dense purple flower in a closed canopy is where mould starts.
  • Father: Triangle Kush. The Florida clone often credited with giving OG Kush its origin, named for the triangle of Jacksonville, Miami and Tampa. Lighter on the pine and cleaner-fluid terpenes than its reputation suggests, which is why breeders pair it with louder cuts; Humboldt CSI's 5150 is their pick out of a large Triangle Kush S1 population.
  • Why these two. They are not variations on the same idea. They pull in different directions, and that spread is what makes a pack worth hunting through rather than just growing.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Expect the profile to move plant to plant rather than settle.

  • The Aroma. Grape and berry with a musky, skunky floor under it from the Purple Urkle side, against restrained OG earth and pine rather than the loud cleaner-fluid nose the name implies from the Triangle Kush side.
  • The Taste. Dark fruit up front, musk and earth behind it up front, turning to pine and earth with OG weight, cleaning up late through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

  • They are not on the same clock. Purple Urkle runs around eight weeks indoors, inside a seven to nine week window; Triangle Kush runs eight to nine weeks, reported sixty-three to seventy-seven days with most growers near seventy. Across a pack that gap shows up as plants finishing days or weeks apart.
  • Where the nose comes from. One side gives sweet grape and dark berry over earthy skunk, myrcene-dominant; the other gives classic OG earth and pine, noticeably restrained rather than loud. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
  • Two frames in one pack. Purple Urkle is compact and indica-built; deep purple colour hardest where night temperatures drop late. Triangle Kush is stocky and bushy at moderate indoor height, up to two metres outdoors; vegs vigorously and throws heavy foliage; takes trimming, defoliation and lollipopping well; dense bright green flower under heavy resin. Decide which suits your room before you flip, because you get both.
  • They pull differently. Growers put Purple Urkle at settled and unhurried; the heavy, physical end and Triangle Kush at the potent, focused end of the OG family. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

  • Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Purple Urkle is compact and indica-built; deep purple colour hardest where night temperatures drop late. Triangle Kush is leafy and vigorous, filling a tent quickly and taking hard training in return for dense greasy flower.
  • Before the flip. Decide the shape now. These lines do not tidy themselves up once they are running.
  • Flowering Time. The parents are not on the same clock. Purple Urkle runs around eight weeks indoors, inside a seven to nine week window, Triangle Kush eight to nine weeks, reported sixty-three to seventy-seven days with most growers near seventy. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.

Effects and Experience

  • The Mind. Growers describe Purple Urkle as settled and unhurried; the heavy, physical end.
  • The Body. Triangle Kush is reported as the potent, focused end of the OG family, and that is the side supplying the weight here.

In the pack

7 feminized seeds per pack. Feminized seeds from Humboldt CSI. Their library is clones first and crosses second, which is why the names on their packs read like a list of plants rather than a list of products. Humboldt CSI genetics, as released by them. 21+.
