One is Seed Junky's Wedding Cake cross, and one of the most used dessert parents of the last decade; the other is Sin City's Forum Cookies cross, and the strain that made their name. Two very different plants, and the point of the cross is what sits between them. Sin City work from a small stable of proven house parents rather than starting fresh each time, which is why their crosses behave more consistently than the ingredient list alone would suggest.

Written this way, Ice Cream Cake is the mother and SinMint Cookies the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Ice Cream Cake. Seed Junky's Wedding Cake cross, and one of the most used dessert parents of the last decade. Built from Wedding Cake x Gelato #33.
• Father: SinMint Cookies. The Forum Cookies cross that made Sin City's name nationally. Built from given as Girl Scout Cookies, Forum cut, crossed to Blue Power. Bred in the early 2010s, and it is the cross that took Sin City from a Las Vegas name to a national one.
• What the cross is reaching for. One side brings the structure and the other brings the nose. The plants worth keeping out of a pack are the ones that hold both rather than picking a side.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Neither parent is subtle, and the cross has nowhere quiet to go.

• The Aroma. Sweet dough and vanilla with a cold creamy edge from the Ice Cream Cake side, against cookie dough with mint over a kush base from the SinMint Cookies side.
• The Taste. Cake batter and cream, very little sharpness up front, turning to minty and sweet with kush behind it through the exhale.

What each side brings

• Timing splits the pack. One parent wants eight to nine weeks, the other sixty to sixty-five days, yielding three to five hundred grams a square metre. Expect the fast plants down well before the slow ones are ready.
• Where the nose comes from. One side gives sweet dough and vanilla with a cold creamy edge; the other gives cookie dough with mint over a kush base. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
• Build. On the Ice Cream Cake side: dense, pale flower under a thick frost, short and stocky in structure. On the SinMint Cookies side: about sixty forty indica, with dense compact buds under trichome coverage heavy enough that they read almost white at harvest.
