And Strawberry Cough: Kyle Kushman's cross of Strawberry Fields to an unknown Haze, and the plant that made strawberry a real cannabis note. Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Triangle Kush. The Florida cut that sits at the root of the OG family and has fathered more of the modern index than almost anything else. Lighter on the pine and cleaner-fluid terpenes than its reputation suggests, which is why breeders pair it with louder cuts; Humboldt CSI's 5150 is their pick out of a large Triangle Kush S1 population.
• Father: Strawberry Cough. Kyle Kushman's cross of Strawberry Fields to an unknown Haze, and the plant that made strawberry a real cannabis note. That one comes from Strawberry Fields x an unknown Haze.
• The point of the pairing. Neither parent needed rescuing. Putting them together is about what sits between them, not about fixing either one.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two profiles that stay distinguishable rather than collapsing into one.

• The Aroma. OG earth and pine, held back rather than shouted from the Triangle Kush side, against unmistakable strawberry over a haze backbone from the Strawberry Cough side.
• The Taste. OG-weighted pine and earth that cleans up towards the end up front, turning to sweet strawberry with a clean sativa finish through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

• They are not on the same clock. Triangle Kush runs eight to nine weeks, reported sixty-three to seventy-seven days with most growers near seventy; Strawberry Cough runs nine to ten weeks. Across a pack that gap shows up as plants finishing days or weeks apart.
• Two noses, one pack. Triangle Kush contributes classic OG earth and pine, noticeably restrained rather than loud. Strawberry Cough contributes unmistakable strawberry over a haze backbone. Which dominates is the main thing that varies.
• Build. On the Triangle Kush side: stocky and bushy at moderate indoor height, up to two metres outdoors; vegs vigorously and throws heavy foliage; takes trimming, defoliation and lollipopping well; dense bright green flower under heavy resin. On the Strawberry Cough side: smaller, denser buds than most sativas, strawberry-red pistils threaded through olive-green flower under a heavy glistening trichome coat. Select early rather than trying to train your way out of it.
• They pull differently. Growers put Triangle Kush at the potent, focused end of the OG family and Strawberry Cough at sativa-leaning and lifting. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.
