Underdog Urkle (Loompa’s headband x Purple Urkle) puts Loompa's Headband over Purple Urkle. One is the Loompa Farms selection, also called Underdawg OG; the other is a Mendocino Purps selection pulled out of the Emerald Triangle around 1990. Two very different plants, and the point of the cross is what sits between them. These are held cuts, not recreations. CSI's entire catalogue works that way, and it is the reason their crosses are worth chasing.

Written this way, Loompa's Headband is the mother and Purple Urkle the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

• Mother: Loompa's Headband. The Loompa Farms selection, also called Underdawg OG. That one comes from OG Kush x Sour Diesel, roughly sixty-forty indica.
• Father: Purple Urkle. A select phenotype of Mendocino Purps out of the Emerald Triangle around the turn of the 1990s. Dense purple flower in a closed canopy is where mould starts.
• What to expect across a pack. Two distinct parents means real variation in frame, finish and nose. Select early and take cuttings off anything you would want again.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Neither parent is subtle, and the cross has nowhere quiet to go.

• The Aroma. Rich earth with pine and citrus over a hint of fuel, and a spicy lemony diesel note across all of it from the Loompa's Headband side, against sweet grape and dark berry over earthy skunk, myrcene-dominant from the Purple Urkle side.
• The Taste. Lemon and diesel turning to dank kush and earthy herbs with a spiced finish up front, turning to grape and berry turning earthy and musky through the exhale.

• Timing. Purple Urkle runs around eight weeks indoors, inside a seven to nine week window, and that is the half of this cross you can actually plan around.
