Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Girl Scout Cookies. The Forum cut, which most of the modern dessert category descends from. Given as generally given as OG Kush crossed to a Durban line; the Forum cut was an S1 found in bagseed and circulated through the ICMag forums around 2010. CSI publish a caution that their Cookies hybrids can express instability under some conditions while still producing plenty of good plants.
• Father: Purple Hindu Kush. A purple Hindu Kush selection, indica to the core. Given as Hindu Kush x Purple Afghani.
• The point of the pairing. Neither parent needed rescuing. Putting them together is about what sits between them, not about fixing either one.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Neither parent is subtle, and the cross has nowhere quiet to go.

• The Aroma. Sweet cookie dough and vanilla cream with a faint mint over an earthy Kush base from the Girl Scout Cookies side, against sweet earth and grape with hash underneath from the Purple Hindu Kush side.
• The Taste. Doughy and sweet with vanilla late, finishing earthier up front, turning to grape and earth, hashy at the end through the exhale.

How the two sides differ

• Two different harvest dates. Nine to ten weeks for Girl Scout Cookies, seven to eight weeks for Purple Hindu Kush. Judge each plant on trichomes rather than pulling the room together.
• The smell is a negotiation. Sweet cookie dough and vanilla cream with a faint mint, over an earthy kush base on one side against earthy, piney and spicy with strong grape and berry over a pungent base on the other. Neither wins outright in every seedling.
• Build. On the Girl Scout Cookies side: tight, heavy, dense flower rather than an open frame. On the Purple Hindu Kush side: dense resinous buds in deep purple with bright orange pistils under a thick trichome coat; colour develops as temperatures drop in flower. Select early rather than trying to train your way out of it.
• They pull differently. Growers put Girl Scout Cookies at even rather than racy; settling and Purple Hindu Kush at indica and settling. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Girl Scout Cookies is tight, heavy, dense flower rather than an open frame. Purple Hindu Kush is short and broad in the mountain-indica shape, colouring hard.
