Queen Irene (Irene x Space Queen) is Irene Kush crossed to Space Queen. Irene Kush is also called Irene OG, a sour-scented hybrid out of the American Deep South kept almost entirely for its terpenes. Space Queen is Vic High's Romulan crossed to Cinderella 99. Between them they cover ground neither reaches alone. The parent stock here predates most of the market it now sits in.

Written this way, Irene Kush is the mother and Space Queen the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Irene Kush. Also called Irene OG, a sour-scented hybrid out of the American Deep South kept almost entirely for its terpenes. It traces back to traced to an unknown Emerald Triangle plant crossed to Hindu Kush, and widely taken to descend from California OG Kush. CSI recommend a nutrient-rich organic soil with good micronutrient content to bring the terpenes out; it is among the hardest clones they have reversed.
• Father: Space Queen. A BC cross of Romulan to Cinderella 99, and one of the classic balanced hybrids. Parentage: given as Romulan x Cinderella 99. Cinderella 99 brings the tropical terpinolene lift and the fast finish; Romulan brings the resin, the heavier calyx and the body weight. Bred by Vic High of the BC Growers Association and later popularised by Subcool.
• Why it is worth a pack rather than a look. The two sides are far enough apart that seedlings genuinely differ. That range is the product.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two distinct smells, and a pack will give you both plus everything between.

• The Aroma. Classic Kush sweetness and pine with an unusual sour diesel edge running through it from the Irene Kush side, against tropical fruit off the Cinderella 99 side from the Space Queen side.
• The Taste. Sour over a kush base up front, turning to sweet and fruit-forward through the exhale.

• What to budget. The documented side, Space Queen, runs fifty to sixty days - call it seven to nine weeks. Set the room to that and let the plants correct you.
• Where the nose comes from. One side gives sweet, earthy and floral with rich earth and pine, plus a distinct diesel note that most OG cuts do not have; the other gives tropical fruit off the Cinderella 99 side. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
• Two frames in one pack. Irene Kush is resilient with a sturdy frame rather than delicate. Space Queen is grows well in or out, with modest to above-average yields. Decide which suits your room before you flip, because you get both.
• They pull differently. Growers put Irene Kush at the potent, focused end of the OG family; settling and Space Queen at balanced between head and body, which is the point of the pairing. Which end a plant lands on is the main variable.
