There are two very different things inside Irene x Lemon tree. Irene Kush, also called Irene OG - a sour-scented hybrid out of the American Deep South. And Lemon Tree: Lemon Skunk over Sour Diesel, selected out of a large hunt in the Santa Cruz mountains. CSI breed off held clones rather than off seed stock, which is why the parents named on the pack are the actual plants and not their descendants.

Order matters in a cross name. In Irene x Lemon tree the Irene Kush side supplied the seed and Lemon Tree the pollen, and the reciprocal - the same two plants the other way round - is a separate breeding decision with its own results.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Irene Kush. Also called Irene OG - a sour-scented hybrid out of the American Deep South. It traces back to traced to an unknown Emerald Triangle plant crossed to Hindu Kush, and widely taken to descend from California OG Kush. CSI recommend a nutrient-rich organic soil with good micronutrient content to bring the terpenes out; it is among the hardest clones they have reversed.
• Father: Lemon Tree. Lemon Skunk over Sour Diesel, selected out of a large hunt in the Santa Cruz mountains. Given as Lemon Skunk x Sour Diesel.
• The point of the pairing. Neither parent needed rescuing. Putting them together is about what sits between them, not about fixing either one.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Expect the profile to move plant to plant rather than settle.

• The Aroma. Sweet, earthy and floral with rich earth and pine, plus a distinct diesel note that most OG cuts do not have from the Irene Kush side, against sharp lemon and citrus over a fuel base from the Lemon Tree side.
• The Taste. Earthy and piney with the sweetness carrying through and a sour diesel edge up front, turning to zesty and sour turning heavier and more diesel-driven through the exhale.

Where the parents disagree

• Timing. Lemon Tree runs eight to ten weeks, and that is the half of this cross you can actually plan around.
• The smell is a negotiation. Sweet, earthy and floral with rich earth and pine, plus a distinct diesel note that most og cuts do not have on one side against sharp lemon and citrus over a fuel base on the other. Neither wins outright in every seedling.
• Structure varies hard here. Resilient with a sturdy frame rather than delicate from one parent; medium height, around ninety to a hundred centimetres indoors from the other. Plan the canopy for the taller outcome.
• Opposite ends. Irene Kush is reported as the potent, focused end of the OG family; settling; Lemon Tree as bright and uplifting rather than heavy. The cross sits somewhere between and moves plant to plant.

Cultivation and Growth Traits

• Plant Structure. The two parents disagree here, so plan for range. Irene Kush is grown for its terpene profile more than its yield. Lemon Tree is medium height, around ninety to a hundred centimetres indoors.
• Training. Worth the effort early - it is the difference between an even canopy and three colas and a lot of leaf.
• Flowering Time. Lemon Tree runs eight to ten weeks. Start checking trichomes a week before you expect to be ready.

Effects and Experience

• The Mind. Growers describe Irene Kush as the potent, focused end of the OG family; settling.
• The Body. Lemon Tree is reported as bright and uplifting rather than heavy, and that is the side supplying the weight here.
