Tangerine Power (Agent Orange x Blue Power) crosses Agent Orange to Blue Power, the TGA citrus sativa - Orange Velvet over Jack the Ripper against the 2010 cross that everything else at Sin City was built on top of. Neither is a filler parent, which is why this pairing is worth a pack rather than a look. Sin City have been running these house parents for over a decade. The value in a cross like this is as much in the known half as in the new one.

Written this way, Agent Orange is the mother and Blue Power the pollen donor. Reversing a cross is not a formality; which plant carries the seed shapes what comes out of the pack.

Genetic Lineage

• Mother: Agent Orange. The TGA citrus sativa - Orange Velvet over Jack the Ripper. That one comes from given as Orange Velvet crossed to Jack the Ripper. Orange Velvet was MzJill's own plant and Jack the Ripper is TGA's Haze hybrid, so the citrus and the earth come from opposite sides. It took third in the sativa category at the IC 420 Growers Cup in both 2012 and 2013. MzJill has said the name is for her father, a Green Beret exposed to the defoliant in Vietnam.
• Father: Blue Power. The 2010 cross that everything else at Sin City was built on top of. Its own cross is a Power clone crossed to a White Moonshine male in 2010; the Power side is given as Sour Double x Master Kush, and White Moonshine as The White x Blue Moonshine. The mother was bought simply as Power from Progressive Options, a Prop 215 shop in the San Fernando Valley that dealt in elite cuts, and a persistent rumour says it was really the cup-winning Sour Dubb. Nobody has settled that.
• Why these two. They are not variations on the same idea. They pull in different directions, and that spread is what makes a pack worth hunting through rather than just growing.

Flavor and Aroma Profile

Two distinct smells, and a pack will give you both plus everything between.

• The Aroma. Bright orange - peel and zest rather than juice - sweet and tangy enough to read as candy, over earth from the Jack the Ripper side from the Agent Orange side, against sweet kush over sour fuel, with a creamy berry note behind it from the Blue Power side.
• The Taste. Orange citrus with an earthy floor up front, turning to lemon and berry sweetness closing on earth through the exhale.

What each side brings

• Where the nose comes from. One side gives bright orange - peel and zest rather than juice - sweet and tangy enough to read as candy, over earth from the Jack the Ripper side; the other gives sweet kush and sour diesel with creamy blueberry and vanilla behind it. Plants landing in the middle are the keepers.
